“Play gives children a chance to practice what they are learning.”
– Mr. Rogers

Red Rock Wild Schooling is thrilled to announce the launch of a new Special Education Program that focuses on providing a fun and supportive learning environment for students with mild to moderate disabilities. The wilderness school curriculum is designed to offer a unique and hands-on educational experience in a natural outdoor setting, incorporating elements of Montessori and Waldorf education, as well as forest school principles. The program aims to foster a sense of connection to nature, promote environmental stewardship, and provide opportunities for students to develop their social skills, independence, and self-confidence.

At Red Rock Wild Schooling, students in the Special Education Program can look forward to engaging in a variety of exciting and interactive activities that encourage creativity, exploration, and teamwork. From nature walks and scavenger hunts to arts and crafts inspired by the outdoors, students will have the opportunity to have fun while learning and growing in a supportive environment. The program also includes activities such as outdoor living skills, gardening, animal care, mindfulness practices, and community engagement projects, all aimed at enhancing students' emotional well-being and overall development.

The staff at Red Rock Wild Schooling are dedicated to creating a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere where students feel supported, valued, and encouraged to express themselves. Through collaborative outdoor activities and opportunities for social interaction, students have the chance to build positive relationships with their peers and instructors, fostering a sense of belonging and camaraderie. The Special Education Program at Red Rock Wild Schooling is designed to not only provide an enriching educational experience but also to ensure that students have fun, feel supported, and are empowered to explore and thrive in the natural world.
